After you obtain your first Emblem Ring character in Fire Emblem Engage, a new Points value will show up next to the EXP bar, called SP or Skill Points. As you can expect, these Points are needed when you want to purchase Inherited Skills from those Emblem Rings characters. Collecting them down the line could be a hassle, so let’s learn how to get and farm Skill Points before you play too far in Fire Emblem Engage.
How to Get Skill Points in Fire Emblem Engage
Simply put, most of the time, in Fire Emblem Engage you can gain Skill Points using the same way to gain XP:
- Initiate or defeat enemies.
- Healing friendly units.
- Using Staves.
- Using Unique Actions.
According to some players’ testimonies, you will gain more Skill Points as you level up and battle tougher enemies. How high your Bond Level might also impact your how many Skill Points you get. However, you will need to equip Rings in order to gain Skill Points when defeating enemies; the type of Rings will also determine how many Skill Points you can obtain:
- Emblem Ring: Gain Skill Points 100% amount of XP gain.
- Bond Ring: Gain Skill Points 50% amount of XP gain.
- Not equipping any Rings: 0 Skill Point gains.
Equipping Bond Rings while running Training Battles in the Arena in Somniel will also net you Skill Points. But you won’t be able to equip an Emblem Ring to your units. Still, even though you won’t get the maximum amount, Skill Points are still Skill Points.
In addition, bear in mind that the higher-level Skills have “additive cost,” as in purchasing the lower-leveled ones will subtract the price. For instance, let’s say:
- Avoid+20 Skill costs 3,000 Skill Points.
- Avoid+10 costs 1,500 Points.
- And Avoid+10 costs 500 Points.
If you buy Avoid+10, then the cost of both Avoid+20 and +15 will go down by 500.
How to Farm Skill Points in Fire Emblem Engage
Currently, the best way to farm Skill Points according to the Fire Emblem Engage community is by using Micaiah. You will obtain her after completing “Chapter 6 – The Stolen Ring” main story mission. While most of her Skills are nothing to write home about, the best thing about Micaiah is her Engage Attack, Great Sacrifice.
As hinted by the Engage Attack’s name, Great Sacrifice will sacrifice the unit’s HP to 1 HP and use it to restore the HP to your whole team –even characters not under your control. Now, if Emblem Ring Micaiah manages to heal a significant amount of health, you can easily acquire around 150 SP per match!
Then, to further boost your Skill Point gains, you will need the Favorite Food Inheritable Skill from Emblem Ring Celica, which unlocks at Bond Level 8. This Skill will let you quickly fill up your unit’s Engage Meter and spam Great Sacrifice over and over.
At this point, you will need to keep refreshing Skirmishes in order to farm Skill Points as well as EXP and Gold. We already have a guide on How to Respawn Skirmishes in Fire Emblem Engage, so don’t forget to check it out!
Speaking of Skirmishes, though, there are Skirmishes that will spawn Silver Corrupted. Defeating them can net you a decent amount of XP as well as around 60 Skill Points per kill. Reach Donation Level 2 and 3 in Allied Countries to spawn more Silver Corrupted Skirmishes.
