Rotom Sparks is a TM crafting material dropped by the Electric- and Ghost-type Rotom in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Those familiar with the previous titles of the franchise will recognize Rotom as the pocket monster that is capable of taking on the appearance and element of various household appliances, such as microwave ovens or washing machines. The Electric- and Ghost-type creature’s form can be altered once players have acquired the Rotom Catalog from the Auction Market in Porto Marinada. However, for farming Rotom Sparks, Trainers do not need this catalog but only need to know where Rotom spawns in the wild.

Farming Rotom Sparks in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To find Rotom and farm the Rotom Sparks TM crafting material in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, players must explore the areas near the lighthouses in the East Province (Area Two) and West Province (Area Two). More specifically, Wild Rotoms often appear on the coastline cliffs near Porto Marinada and Levincia.

How to get Hippopotas Sand in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

According to Game8, players should snack on a Master Klawf Claw Sandwich or Hefty Sandwich to increase their chances of encountering the Electric- and Ghost-type Rotom in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Rotom is not a rare pocket monster, but it is possible that players might have issues finding one in the two locations noted above. Accordingly, these Encounter Power-buffing Sandwiches can provide a higher possibility of finding the target creature. Moreover, Game8 also suggests using the “Picnic Table Method” of whipping out the picnic supplies to reset the pocket monster spawn within the area. Players can repeat this mechanic without penalty until Rotom appears.

To farm Rotom Sparks efficiently, players are encouraged to use the Let’s Go auto-battler mechanic in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This feature sends out a specific pocket monster into the wild to fight with another Pokémon, removing the need to begin an entire turn-based combat sequence. As an Electric- and Ghost-type creature, Rotom is weak to Ground-, Ghost-, and Dark-type Movesets. Therefore, the best combatants for the Let’s Go farming method would be the Ghost- and Ground-type Sandygast, the Dark- and Ghost-type Sableye, or the Ground- and Dark-type Krookodile in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
