Medical Malpractice debuted in Fallout 76‘s first expansion, the March 2019 Wild Appalachia update. Although there are better guns in the game, it’s still considered a pretty good Legendary gun thanks to the Medic’s and VATS Enhanced effects. Here’s how you can get the Medical Malpractice revolver in Fallout 76 nowadays.

How to Get Medical Malpractice in Fallout 76

Players used to be able to obtain the Medical Malpractice gun by completing the “Deal Critical Hits to Enemies (150)” Weekly Challenge in Survival Mode, but the Challenge was only available during April 2-8 and July 30 to August 8, 2019. You might think that means you can no longer get it, but do not fret! Now, per April 2021 Locked & Loaded update, Fallout 76 players can get the weapon by acquiring the Plan for Medical Malpractice and crafting it on a Weapons Workbench.

Unlike most Legendary equipment that drops as loot from enemies like the Covert Scout Armor, this one is only available from the crafting option. After you have obtained the Medical Malpractice Plan, below are the necessary materials in order to craft the weapon:

  • Adhesive x1
  • Oil x1
  • Legendary Modules x2
  • Screws x6
  • Steel x15

The Plan for Medical Malpractice itself can be found through random rewards from over Level 50 Daily Ops or bought from Minerva‘s rotating goods for 1,333 Bottle Caps or 1,333 Gold. Suppose you’re running the Daily Ops in an attempt to get a Medical Malpractice Plan. In that case, the Fallout 76 community suggests completing it with the Elder Tier since it guarantees you a Daily Op reward.
