If you want to get linen in New World, you will need to gather fiber and refine it into linen at a loom station. You can find these loom stations in all major settlements in the game, but before you can make linen, you will need to get fiber, which can be obtained via hemp plants.
You can find these hemp plants by exploring both the forest and grassland areas in the game. If you are unsure where these areas are in the game, you can always use the map resource tab in the game to find them or a handy resource map at newwordfans.com.
That said, once you locate either the forest and grassland areas in the game, the next thing you will need to do is start exploring and looking for hemp plants.
When you gather a good amount of fiber, head back to town, and you can then make the linen you need for various recipes at a loom - you can find one of looms via the loom icon shown above.
