Pokémon GO constantly receives new Pokémon and legendaries throughout the year. These Pokémon usually join the game’s roster in a very public way: during an event or in-game celebration. Recently, Niantic added a new feature called Adventure Incense. From this new item, some players have reported encounters with legendary Galarian birds! How to catch Galarian Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno in Pokémon GO
At the time of writing, players can only catch the Galarian legendary birds (Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno) by using the Adventure Incense. Adventure Incense works a bit differently than the classic Incense that players might be used to. Each day, players will receive one free Adventure Incense that they can use.
Once activated, the Incense will last for only 15-minutes. Players need to walk around in their area for Pokémon to spawn, and there is a very low chance for one of the legendary birds to spawn. These legendary birds have an extremely low catch rate. Players will be lucky to catch one at all, as they frequently flee after the first ball is thrown.
Can Galarian Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno be shiny in Pokémon GO?
Unfortunately, Galarian Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno cannot be shiny at the moment. It is likely that their shiny versions will be added at a later date. Niantic often features legendary Pokémon in events and celebrations, so players should keep an eye out for these legendaries to appear in the in-game news tab.
