God of War Ragnarok: How to Get Blazing Embers

Just like Glowing Embers, the Blazing Embers are obtained through the Muspelheim Trials. Muspelheim is just one of the nine realms in God of War Ragnarok and is unlocked later in the game.

Blazing Embers are the Shield-enhancing material. Though everyone is focused on achieving striking combinations in combat, when you upgrade your Shield, the bearded demi-god will have enough power to counter the toughest opponents out there.

Follow these few steps to acquire the blazing embers in God of War Ragnarok.

  • Unlock the Muspelheim realm by collecting two halves of the Muspelheim Seed in Svartalheim. (First one is in a Legendary Chest at the top of Modvitnir’s Rig, and the second is in Alberich Hollow).
  • Enter the Muspelheim Crucible
  • This will launch a sequence of trials in which Kratos will battle many enemies. As you progress, the trials will become harder to complete.
  • Be as much as aggressive as you can. Don’t spare anyone or anything during these trials.
  • There are 15 trials in total, but once you reach and complete the challenge ‘Health Steal.”, you will receive a chest that contains blazing embers, among other rewards.

Although the blazing embers are not easy to come by in God of War Ragnarok, they are certainly worth the trouble. You will use them to finalize the upgrades for your Onslaught, Guardian, and Dauntless Shields.
