For Pokémon trainers with a skilled eye, you may have noticed that Poipole, one of the Ultra Beast Pokémon, is not available for you to catch in Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Crown Tundra expansion. The other 10 Ultra Beasts appear after you’ve completed three of the legend quests, and when you return to the Max Lair that you initially visit at the start of the Crown Tundra expedition. You will catch the Ultra Beasts in the Dynamax Adventures. But how do you get Poipole?
The way you unlock Poipole is to complete 15 Dynamax Adventures and have access to the Ultra Beasts legends quest. You will know you have the quest when you have the “Legendary clue?” key item in your bag. It should be right at the bottom.
After you know you’ve completed 15 of these adventures, go to the Max Lair lobby and Poipole should be standing next to the chart and readout on the right side of the room. If you don’t have enough Dynamax Adventures under your belt, Popole won’t appear and you’ll have to continue to complete them before it arrives.
It will be available to you at level 20, which isn’t the best thing. The other Ultra Beast Pokémon you can catch are significantly higher in level, but it’s not too hard to level up Poipole.
