Destiny 2 Season 19: Season of the Seraph adds new and unique equipment for Guardians to collect. And this season, the spotlight goes to The Manticore, a Legendary Void Submachine Gun that gives you damage buffs while jumping around like a moon rabbit. Of course, you wouldn’t want to miss out on the chance to obtain one. Here’s how you can get The Manticore and complete its Catalyst in Destiny 2 Season 19.

How to Get The Manticore in Destiny 2

Getting The Manticore Submachine Gun is actually not that hard — well, especially if you’re a Deluxe Edition owner. Owners of The Witch Queen Deluxe Edition or Season of the Seraph Season Pass can instantly unlock The Manticore when launching the game since it’s available at Level 1 of the Season Pass.

Meanwhile, free-to-play players can unlock The Manticore at Level 35 of Season of the Seraph Season Pass. The Catalyst Quest, “Volantes Violentiam,” is then available to be picked up from Banshee-44 at The Tower.

How to Complete The Manticore Catalyst in Destiny 2

Once you have acquired the Submachine Gun and the “Volantes Violentiam” Catalyst Quest, you need to complete three objectives in order to obtain The Manticore Catalyst:

  • Step 1: Defeat 50 targets with Submachine Guns while airborne (0/50).
  • This one is actually rather simple since you don’t need to use The Manticore to complete it. Nevertheless, the gun deals bigger damage when you’re airborne so there’s that.
  • Step 2a: Complete Playlist Activities while using The Manticore (0/200).
  • Completing a Strike will only count 1 point of progress. It’s more recommended to do Heroic/Master Nightfalls, Gambits, and Crucibles since they give 2 points. It’s still a slog, but if you have a decent Fireteam, it can be cleared faster.
  • Step 2b: Defeat 700 targets with The Manticore (0/700):
  • Sounds tough, but this one should be cleared as you play around with the SMG. Defeating Guardians in PvP will give bonus points as well.
  • Step 3: Turn the Quest in to Banshee-44.
  • As written above, simply head back to the Tower and speak with the vendor to obtain The Manticore Catalyst.
