First there was Welcome to TechQuest, which was brought to Roblox in support of the Computer History Museum, and now there’s CurioCity, an experience that aims to teach young players about human anatomy and our solar system with help from the notable science museum, The Franklin Institute. For those interested in checking out this educational experience, you’ll be pleased to learn that you can also obtain two free UGC items during your visit, the Hard Shell Backpack and Bolt Cap. To learn more about how to unlock these accessories, continue reading below.
How to earn all free items in CurioCity
Hard Shell Backpack
The Hard Shell Backpack can be earned by participating in one of CurioCity’s escape room minigames for five minutes. Yep, that’s all there is to it! Once you’ve spawned into CurioCity, simply look for the building pictured below and walk into its front door.
Upon doing so, you will enter the escape room lobby. In this lobby you’ll find six escape rooms that you can participate in—two that are easy, two that are medium, and two that are hard. Since the actual gameplay of the escape room doesn’t matter, we’d suggest just choosing either of the easy escape rooms and walking into their pods.
After waiting 30 seconds and watching a brief cut scene, you will be released to explore around the escape room. If you’d prefer to spend the required five minutes actually playing the minigame, feel free! Or, if you aren’t interested in playing the minigame, you can simply stand in one place and do something else in real life while you wait. Be sure to keep an eye on your oxygen level, however, as your character will fail the escape room if you run out! To refill your oxygen, locate an oxygen vent and hold E.
Once you’ve spent at least five minutes inside of the experience, the HB Clear badge should appear in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. There is a chance, however, that the badge won’t ever visibly appear. In this case, refresh your Robloxian’s inventory after it’s been five minutes and look for the item—even if you didn’t see the badge appear, you should have the item.
Bolt Cap
The Bolt Cap can be found displayed on a mannequin that’s located right in front of the experience’s spawn point. To claim this item, simply walk up to the mannequin and hold E. Upon doing so, you should receive the item and its corresponding badge.
