Battle.net is a separate game client that players must have on their PC to install Activision Blizzard game franchises such as Call of Duty, Diablo, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch. You may encounter several issues while running the application, such as slow downloads and connectivity problems in-game.
How to increase download speed on Battle.net
Battle.net servers get a lot of traffic when games get major updates that may cause players to experience slow download speeds. The following method has seemingly worked for many users:
- Click on the Battle.net logo in the app’s top-left corner and go to Settings. Head to the Downloads section and scroll down to Network Bandwidth. Check the box next to Limit Download Bandwidth and enter the value 500 (kb/s) in the Latest Content and Pre-release Content boxes. Click on Done and start downloading the game or update. Let the download start, wait for approximately 15 seconds, and then pause. Now go back to the same settings menu above and uncheck the Limit Download Bandwidth box. Resume your download and it should speed up.
The download may slow down after some time for some users. If it does, you can retry this method as there is no permanent fix. Alternatively, you can purchase Activision games on Steam as it has a significantly higher stability and server connection.
