In Sonic Frontiers, players explore the open world, combating various Guardians, and using different Portals to visit the Cyber Space. While exploring the map, you’ll also come across multiple Fishing Spots where you can catch fish. The map is massive, and players will unlock areas as they progress. Here’s how to fish in Sonic Frontiers.
How to catch Fish in Sonic Frontiers
Fishing is an effective mechanic in Sonic Frontiers, allowing you to stock up on various essential items. You’ll need to find and interact with various Fishing Spots on the map, which resemble Portals in the game. Once you come across this throne-like structure shown in the image above, interact with it to get teleported to a digital dimension where you’ll meet Big the Cat. However, you need to find another collectible item essential for fishing. Players must have enough Purple Coins to borrow a fishing rod from Big. We recommend finding ample of these collectibles before starting to fish in Sonic Frontiers.
Cast the line on the water surface, and wait for the fish to get caught. When a fish is caught, you’ll see a Red ripple on the water’s surface, and soon after, you’ll see a White ripple coincide with the Red ripple. When the White ripple overlaps the Red one, press Square/X or the right-mouse button to pull up the line. Timing this perfectly will catch the fish, and you’ll get a few additional rewards depending on the kind of fish you caught. Big the Cat will trade Treasure Tokens for every fish you catch, which can be used to purchase various items. Players will also find Gold Cards, Scrolls, and other items while fishing, which are quite rare.
