Frost Orbs are special crafting resources that you can farm for in Dauntless. They will allow you to craft and upgrade weapons and gear. Frost Orbs can drop from specific creatures, or during specific in-game activities.
How To Farm Frost Orbs In Dauntless
While Frost Orbs can potentially drop just from playing the game, there are ways to farm them to ensure you gather them up as fast as possible. Frost Patrols are a great way to gather up Frost Orbs. Because Patrols can have random Behemoths for you to hunt, it is best to make sure that you can handle anything from a Threat Level of 4 to a Threat Level of 7 before setting out on a Frost Patrol.
Frost Patrols can mean you have to fight anything from a Skraev, with a Power Level of about 150, to a Pangar, which will have a Power Level of about 275. As you can see, they can be pretty wide-ranging, and you don’t want to end up in a Patrol that you cannot handle. Upon completion, a Frost Patrol will award you 10 Frost Orbs.
To use your Frost Orbs, just head back to Ramsgate and go to Wils Bormen in the crafting area. Here, you can craft or upgrade weapons using resources from the Behemoths you have defeated, and your various types of Orbs. If you visit Moyra Heigsketter, you will be able to craft or upgrade armor, so make sure you know what exactly you want to do with those Orbs! Frost Orbs will allow you to craft and upgrade Frost Gear with either vendor.
