For those undertaking The Bank Heist quest in Destiny 2 to try their hand in attaining the Witherhoard catalyst for the Season of Arrivals, you need plenty of Filthy Lucre. Specifically, you will need 300 of it to unlock the next step of the quest. That’s not even touching on the other two stages, which includes 200 Grenade Launcher Multikills and 100 Grenade Launcher Guardian Eliminations. While the two latter quest steps are straightforward, obtaining Filthy Lucre is a little obscure. Here’s what you need to do, and how you go about farming it.
The only way to obtain Filthy Lucre is to complete Nightfalls, Crucible, or Gambit matches. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose the match. All you need to do is successfully complete them, and you will receive one Filthy Lucre. That means you need to finish between 300 Gambit, Crucible, or Nightfalls during the Season of Arrivals. You can start the grind at any time of the game. However, there are ways to make it faster.
On the Season of Arrivals pass, at levels 11 and 22, you will receive a Catalyst Enhancement for those two levels. At level 11, the Enhancement gives you double the objective progression for the catalyst quest, and the second one, at level 22, triples it. After you reach level 22, it should be a walk in the park and shouldn’t rack up to 300 different matches of any of the playlists.
The catch for these two Enhancements is they are part of the paid track. You can only receive them if you paid for the Season of Arrivals pass. If you purchased it, you’re in good shape. You haven’t, you still need to wait to reach level 35 to receive the Witherhoard in the first place.
