In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Tandemaus can evolve into two different forms. However, what form Tandemaus will evolve into is completely random. But first, you need to learn exactly how to evolve them to see which form you will get. So, our guide will show you everything you need to do to evolve Tandemaus. We’ll also let you know where you can find one if you have yet to add a Tandemaus to your Pokédex.

How to Evolve Tandemaus in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Tandemaus, a Normal-type Pokémon, will evolve into Maushold. There’s no fuss needed, like trading or finding a specific item. All you need to do is battle with Tandemaus until they reach Level 25 for the evolution to take place.

You can raise your companion’s level quickly when you battle wild Pokémon or trainers at a higher level. Keep held items like a Shell Bell is handy for this to ensure your Pokémon doesn’t fall in battle.

Once you reach that Level 25 threshold in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Tandemaus will evolve. However, the appearance can differ based on chance. Tandemaus can evolve either into a Family of 3 or a Family of 4. Again though, this is random. So, you are never going to know just what version of Maushold you’ll get. The Family of 3 is rarer, so many players will probably get the Family of 4.

However, there is no difference in battle once Tandemaus evolves in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. So, it’s perfectly fine no matter which form you receive.

How to Get Population Bomb in Pokémon Scarlet and Violets

Tandemaus and Maushold aren’t known as the strongest Pokémon. Still, it’s worth it to evolve Tandemaus  in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet as soon as possible, seeing just how different the base stats are between them and Maushold:

Tandemaus Location in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Tandemaus is found in various areas in Paldea. However, they are a rare sight, and they have a low spawn rate. Look just outside of cities and towns for better chances of finding them. Check out these areas listed below:

  • Artazon
  • East Province (Area Two)
  • Levincia
  • Porto Marinada
  • The Pokémon League

Perhaps your best chance to get Tandemaus early in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is to search around The Pokémon League building.

With the Normal-type Tandemaus in your party, start battling to reach Level 25, so you can see which version of Maushold you’ll come away with.
